Photo Share: Goldfinch at the flowers

The goldfinch are feasting on the flowers at the Wild Birds Unlimited store. Brown Eyed Susan (Rudbeckia triloba) is a plant that will grow under diverse conditions. Even with the dry, hot summer we had this year, there were enough clusters of flowers to attract a charm of finches. Goldfinches will eat the tiny black seeds on the plant, and as the seeds scatter on the ground they will attract buntings, sparrows, and other birds.
